With much excitement I headed out on Friday evening to pick up the latest installment of the Animal Crossing franchise… Animal Crossing: City Folk. I was super excited about it as I was a huge fan of the game on my Nintendo DS. I headed off to Game Stop, traded in bunch of games and got the version with WiiSpeak for $4.99 after all my trade ins. I rushed home to play and I have to say… I was very disappointed. Is there anything majorly wrong with the game? No… not at all. However, there was not enough different about the game from the DS to the Wii to make it worth playing again. I could have had just as good a time trashing my town on my DS and starting over. Nintendo did nothing special for the Wii. I was hoping that I’d have to “dig” with the remote but no… just press a button. Even the “city” section of the game is just a permanent spot for characters that used to come in to the DS game on certain days. You used to have to make sure u were in your town on special days to see those folks… not so much anymore. Long story short… if you’ve never played Animal Crossing… get it. If you have it on your DS… pass.

Something wild is going on in my Animal Crossing Wild World Town. Soukutsu is being over run by CATS! Here are my current neigherbors…
See a trend? Cats! Everywhere Cats! Oy! I better get some more litter! Okay for those readers who think I’m strange because of my newfound obsession with the Nintendo DS game Animal Crossing: Wild World, this post is not for you, skip it, move on I won’t be offended. But for the rest of you… I’m stoked. I got two villager photos this week. This is a part of the game that eluded me. I really have tried, I swear to make nice with my neighbors in hopes they’d reward me with a picture. I’ve run their errands (lazy sods), written them letter upon letter (each elicits a cryptic response), and send fantastic prizes their way (ingrates!). I’ve waved to them, talked to them, even gotten them items they asked for (thank goodness Daisy is off fossils and onto shirts!) and to no avail, that was until Sunday. I was strolling along, when I saw Blaire, my self obsessed chipmunk look in my direction with a giant ! above her head. She hauled tail toward me and said… “Hey nutlet, I don’t always say how nice you are…and in my family we like to give our photos to nice people.” And with that, reached into her pocket and handed me something. I looked in my pockets (which were full!) and realized I’d been had by a glitch in the game. She gave me her photo but I couldn’t accept it. Argh. Thank goodness for the Action Replay. I went right in and got that photo. All happy with myself my photo pursuit was back on, in full force. Letters, chatting, gifts I was all over that, and it paid off again last nite… Kid Cat gave me his photo! He also gave me a very confusing message “…if you scratch it, you can smell my musk!” Ummm… that sounds like a come on to me! I knew that Kid was “family”! This whole Animal Crossing thing just got more complicated. You house actually has Feng Shui. Wow. One more thing to focus on… More info at Animal Crossing Community. Well not on my real house! But my house is finally paid off in Animal Crossing: Wild World. I’ve paid my debt to Tom Nook! Oh and more good news, Nook’s Cranny (my local store) is being upgraded to a Nook n’ Go! Sweet!!!! Yes I’m addicted… so sad. ![]() |
