I am just curious if anyone is still reading my blog? I know I don’t post much but is anyone still tuning in?
I invite you to leave a comment if you’re still out there
Wow look at all the comments!
Hi,
I listen to you and PB on ohmypod thru iTunes, but rarely read your blog. Other than quick references to something specific, I don’t read word-for-word any blog these days.
I am responding today because of your Twitter post asking for feedback. I started following you and PB on Twitter, then found Nard and John O (Ding da Bell makes me laugh just hearing the show intro).
I do enjoy audible and video blogs more, however it’s hard for me to sit down and listen for an hour, or in the case of Leo Laporte’s This Week in Tech, which runs almost 90 minutes – yikes!
Sorry for the long preface to a response to your question; but I wanted to paint a flavor from my point of view.
I think YOU will have to answer the question whether to continue. To completely stop is fine, but it’s also extreme (which is also fine). I don’t mean to sound like Yoda, but what should matter is what is important to you. I don’t think it serves you to look for justification in something you enjoy doing. If you like it, you like it – who cares?
And you can always change up the content. Maybe learn a new sport, take up baking, the diversions (or perversions) of politics, history stuff about your town or a city near you – any of those could be interesting to write about. But since you’re not making money from this (I assume), then keep it fun (for you).
Earlier this year the blogger who runs 808Talk was posing the same question about continuing his blog. I think he is looking for more of a commercial success than a hobby, however I suspect his blog began as a hobby. Later he decided to continue. But unless something specific peaks my interest, I don’t read his blog either…
