Jinxed

I feel really jinxed as of late. There is a possibility that I won’t be traveling for work much longer and ever since that happened I’ve had some crazy bad luck with traveling. I’ve had three trips since that happened and all three trips have had some kinda of weird bad luck.

First I headed to Miami, the first of three trips scheduled over two months. Everything was going well until I got on the plane, taxied out to the runway and then sat for three hours until we could take off. I sat next to two teenagers who got very antsy and argued pretty much not stop until we landed. However, the rest of the trip went well so I didn’t think much about it.

My next trip sent me to Boston via Pittsburgh. I got on the first flight to Pittsburgh and as I was in Zone 6… by the time I got on the flight attendant informed me that there was no room for my suitcase. I would have to check it. I asked if I’d get it back in Pittsburgh but they said they’d check it through to Boston. I had a bad feeling but they would not take no for an answer. After the short flight to Pittsburgh, we had a 3 hour delay in our flight due to weather between Pittsburgh and Boston. When I finally arrived in Boston, my bag was no where to be found. After waiting in line for over an hour I was informed that my bag was waiting for me in Pittsburgh.

US Airways promised me they’d get me my bag later before the morning. I got back to my room and realized that all I had was the clothes on my back. A tee shirt, jeans and sneakers. If I didn’t get my bag by the time I woke, this is what I would be wearing to the customer site. Of course I did not get my bag and I did go to the site in my dirty clothes… I called US Airways so many times that day that they asked me to stop calling. When I finished the day, they still did not know where my bag was so I headed to the local mall to pick up some supplies. I bought some clothes and some toiletries and headed back to the hotel. I ironed everything and went to bed. Around 2AM, the front desk called to tell me my bag arrived. I was relieved. It was not really too bad only a day with lost luggage but the odd part is in four years of traveling… it’s the first and only time I’ve ever lost my luggage.

Last week I went back for my second trip to Miami and arrived just in time for a hurricane. Luckily it stayed a tropical storm and passed Miami. So not such bad luck… however… as I was walking to dinner the night of the tropical storm, I made a bad decision to wear flip flops out to dinner so as to not get my shoes wet and as I tried to walk into the restaurant, I slipped and fell flat on my ass. I put my arm out to break my fall and since then my shoulder has been killing me, not to mention I had to go thru dinner with a soaking wet ass.

Maybe I’m looking to much into things… but boy I feel jinxed.

Go on... say something. You know you want to.
