I have a new favorite program. It’s called Fuzzy Clock. I am sure it’s not for everyone but I love it. It replaces your clock with a new clock, one that doesn’t tell you it’s 9:41PM but rather twenty to ten. ![]() Of course sometimes you do actually need to know the time, that’s no problem if you click on the Fuzzy Clock in your menu bar, it displays the actual time: ![]() I think it’s a lot of fun and to be honest, it makes more sense in my brain when I look up and see it. Check it out if you like.

I know I’m hella late getting this post up but this past weekend my boyfriend and I attended our first NYC Pride parade. I guess it’s kinda pathetic that I’m going to be 34 this year and this is my first time but to be honest as my boyfriend has never shown much interest in going, it never seemed to be a big deal. I made an attempt years ago (before I met him) and missed the parade totally. This year the boyfriend expressed some interest in going so I was all for it. A good friend of mine offered to let us stay at his place in Jersey City so we went up on Saturday and planned to go on the MuscleBear Cruise which was a cruise around Manhattan, with dinner and dancing. It was a good time, I got to dance with the boyfriend and drank a bit too much, we saw some wild stuff with the stripper and even had a romantic moment or two on deck. After the cruise, we went to XXL NYC and my boyfriend and my friends danced their asses off some more. We headed back to my friend’s place around 4am. I’ve not been out that late in forever. Sunday morning, we woke up and after tinkering with my friend’s new iMac, which was more than fair payment for a place to stay, we headed to the city. We observed the Moment of Silence and then headed to Manatau for breakfast. We had a great breakfast and then headed down Christopher Street to find a spot to watch the parade. Lucky for us we found a nice shady spot and watched the parade. I have to say that I was not expecting the emotions I felt. Some stuff was wild and crazy and made me feel happy, some was deeply emotional, such as the lesbian couple walking with their adopted children, the mother and son walking with the PFLAG floats, the older gay couple who had a sign that read “together for 50 years” and the gay policemen/firemen and EMTs caused me to well up. It was a good time and it was spent with good company. We took tons of pictures and I will put them up when I get the photo gallery section back up. Thanks to Steve and Shawn and AJ and Craig for being such good company! Last nite, after a very stressful week (both personal and work has been hard on me), we headed out to dinner with my mom for her birthday. She asked us clearly if we could go to a “nice” restaurant for dinner as she wanted to “get dressed up”. We made plans to meet up at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (one of mom and dad’s faves) in King of Prussia. The plan was to have dinner and then head over to the King of Prussia Mall to take her to the MAC (not Apple) store. We gave her a Gift Certificate on her LAST Christmas to the MAC store, only to find there are none where she lives. We arrived early (I should have listened to Shawn and left a bit later) and strolled around the mall. We walked past the store where I usually get my glasses, and saw there was a 50% off sale on lenses, at that point I decided that I finally wanted to invest in a pair of prescription sunglasses (on a side note…I don’t know why I’ve stopped wearing my contacts). I headed to the store where I usually get my glasses and found a pair of frames that were very similar to my normal glasses and set about getting them made. They told me that they’d be ready by 9PM and took my info. I was very excited and headed off to dinner. Mom and dad were late as they missed the exit off the turnpike but it was no biggie, they arrived around 7pm and we had a very nice dinner. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was a lovely evening. After dinner we headed over to the Mall, and left mom at the MAC store. I went down to the eyeglasses place, excited to pick up my first pair of prescription sunglasses. I walked into the store and the woman at the counter took me back to the pick up/adjustment area, and looked, and looked and looked for my bin. She could not find it. A bit more searching revealed that my glasses would not be ready until tomorrow. I was very upset because I really only bought them from here because I wanted them quickly for our travels this weekend. I was also upset because of the attitude I got from the sales person. I know it matters not to her that they did not keep their promise to me but I mattered to me. I asked to speak to a manager who was not much better. She was a bit rude and I decided instead of being a loud, nasty, disappointed customer, that I’d be a very pleasant, but disappointed customer. After I was nice to all of her nastiness, she explained to me that the anti-glare coating machine had broken and they would not be able to fix it until tomorrow. She went on to say that if I really wanted or needed them, they could finish them without the anti-glare. When asked why they couldn’t have called me (they took all my info twice) to ask me this 2 hour ago, she just apologized and went back to make my lenses. I’m pretty happy with them, but I do think they could have done a better job with the lens edges, but they have a money back guarantee, if I really can’t get over it (I probably will), I’ll just go talk to them next week. On a side note, as we walked thru the mall, we saw the new iPhone display in the Apple Store’s window and I was amazed at how many people not only stopped, but how many people stood there rattling off all kinds of features and information about the phone. I saw about 6 groups of people ranging from Baby Boomers to tweeners to grade school kids, not one group did not know all there was to know about the iPhone. I think this is going to be huge. Yet I still don’t really want one yet. Someday, but not yet. No… this is not a post about the iPhone. I’ve said my piece about that gadget and my opinion has not been swayed by the massive Apple marketing machine. Now if you know me, or if you read this blog you know that aside from being an Apple fanboy, I’m also obsessed with Ferraris. I know it is a ridiculously overpriced, first world status symbol, and even if I really wanted to, I am never going to own one, but I like to look at them! I’ve seen only a few up close and personal and I’ve only TRIED to drive one. After the first big lurch and stall, that voice in my head said… “get out before you total a car worth more than your home”! (too bad Eddie Griffin’s inner voice didn’t say the same, if it had… maybe there wouldn’t be one less Enzo in the world.) Anyway… years ago, I feel in love with the Ferrari I ever saw, I remember I was just a child looking though an old stack of Road & Track when I saw the Ferrari Dino. Back then I knew even less than I do about horsepower, torque and over-steer, but it was the curves, the lines that caught my attention. Even today almost some 40 years later, I still think it is beautiful. ![]() My lust of the Ferrari has not dissipated over the last decade, it’s gotten much strong with models like the 360 Modena, the F430 and the 599 GTB Fiorano and today, while reading Autoblog, my lust for the marque has been pushed up notch… they’re rumored to be creating a new Dino… ![]() ![]() I know it’s not for everyone, but for me… Drool. I just sat and looked back at the posts I’ve made over the past few days and I just want to say that they were VERY accurate to how I was/am feeling, but I’m gonna give it a rest for now. Today I do feel a little better but the dread/worry/stress reflected in them is still there, even if just slightly faded. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Does anyone know how to turn down the voices, the worry, the self doubt in my head? Boy I wish I knew how to.

I am my own worst enemy…

I do. I’m in a deep depression and I don’t think this is going to change anytime soon, in fact, knowing who I am, this is going to get worse, a lot worse before it gets better. I don’t even know which end is up right now. I hate being me.

The iPhone is upon us and since it’s was first shown by Apple at MacWorld SF 2007 I’ve been not too sure it was the right phone for me. I do like the features, and I do like the look, but I’m not too keen on switching back to So, now that I’ve decided to wait a bit on an iPhone, what do I do when my contract is up? I’ve pretty much always had a new phone in my sights and a plan to do SOMETHING at the end of my contract, but this time… I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think I’m actually going to just sit back and cruise out of contract with my much beloved Sidekick 3. I’m still really happy with the phone and it’s features and I’m in no hurry to toss it aside. However, I’m always on the lookout for the next Sidekick, always hoping for better features, such as a better camera. Well today, this my Sidekick sweet tooth got a little taste… Rumored today on Gizmodo, T-Mobile may be planning TWO new Sidekicks, the Sidekick 4 and the Sidekick Slide. The Slide is said to be made by Motorola and that it will be nice and thin. It’s interesting to think of someone other than Sharp making a Sidekick, but it’s really nice to see the Sidekick growing as a brand within T-Mobile. Check them out… Yup, very unexpectedly today Apple announced at the WWDC 2007 that Safari is now available for Windows. Safari if you don’t know is Apple’s Web Browser. It’s up until today been just for OS X but today Apple released Safari 3 Beta. This version of the browser will be included with the next release of OS X, Leopard. The release of Safari on Windows has a lot to do with the iPhone and the fact that Apple announced today that all apps on the iPhone run via Safari. Third party apps will be developed with Web 2.0 and AJAX and if they run in Safari, they will run on the iPhone. Apple also claims that Safari is the fastest browser on OS X OR Windows. Some of the features added to Safari 3 include resizable text boxes and a very cool new feature the inline find. Type Apple + F (Ctrl + F in Windows) and a search box will appear at the top of the browser, type the word to search for and the screen gets grayed out and every occurrence of the word is highlighted. You can move between instances with the forward and back buttons in the search bar with the currently selected instance being highlighted in orange. It’s really cool. In fact check it out: Download your copy here. |
