Well this past weekend was our trip to the Comic Con in NY. If you are a long time blogger, you may remember what happened last year on my trip to the ComicCon. This year however, we were trying very hard to change that. This year we were a threesome, on our way to the city, Pinoyboy, Roseld and myself. And even though I was sick, I was determined to go. It turned out well, I was still feeling crap, but I was determined to make it. We made a great time to the city, I think we were all surprised how fast we got there. We actually got in to town so fast that we were way ahead of schedule to meet up with Evilbuddha. We finally met up with him and headed to Le Bonne Soupe for lunch. Great little place, good food and even better company. We made it to the ComicCon around 1pm, and we had a great time. I was a little surprised at how much Anime was at the ‘Con. It seemed to over shadow the comic portion quite a bit. There was lots to see and do, especially to see. I really enjoyed seeing all the fans dressed up. We saw quite a few very dedicated fans. i didn’t take many pics of them, but Gaygamer.net posted a few. Roseld did some shopping, and I stuck to my guns and didn’t buy a thing. After the ‘Con we met up with Roseld’s friend who we had dinner with the year before. We went back to Marianne’s, a nice Mexican place and had some good food. We wandered over to the Pleasure Chest, yes an adult toy store! Where we all had a good time looking, laughing and wondering at all the toys they offered! We even had a very helpful salesman who was really knowledgeable and helpful, something I’ve not experienced before at an adult novelty store. It was a great time. Next, we headed up to East of 8th where we had dessert and then back to the hotel for some much needed shut eye. Sunday morning was an early one but we headed back to Maison, where Pinoyboy had originally introduced me to Lindemann’s Framboise. We had a very nice French brekkie and a lovely chat about all kinds of stuff. It was nice. The ride home was nice as well. I owe Pinoyboy a great big thanks for being such a good listener and a fantastic friend as he listened to me ramble the entire way home from Roseld’s. All in all I think it was a great success and a wonderful time, and I was even feeling better by the time we got home… that is until it started snowing… |
