Ah Monday, more snow. It’s finally winter. Not as much to be annoying. but still a nice two inches. This weekend’s situation has been resolved, and I couldn’t be happier. However the weekend itself was full of work. Twenty-four hours over 2.5 days. Sigh. So tired. And still behind. I did however get both my blogs upgraded to Wordpress 2.1. So far so good no bugs and it seems to be working well. In fact I’m very happy because it has Auto-Save and my Firefox session crashed in the middle of posting this and I got my whole post saved! Nice.

This was a crap week. And just when I didn’t think it could get any worse it did. ![]() To quote him, “I got nothin’” and I miss him. Today, we had not only the first snow of 2007 but for the whole winter season. It’s been eerily warm this winter and today, we got a “dusting” of snow. However there was a bit of freezing rain that fell prior to the snow and that made for a mess on the roads. There were accidents everywhere and my major route and my back roads into the office were all blocked. Sigh. Good thing I can telecommute which I did for a few hours this morning. What a mess. I’m sad. I check my RSS feeds, and no one who used to blog, is blogging. That’s not to say no one is, thank goodness for the few folk who blog once or twice a week but this time last year, I had dozens of posts per day to read, I miss it. However, I’m as guilty as the next. I forget to blog. I think of something to write and then I never get the chance to write it. I want to change that. Really I do. I hope that the other bloggers on my blogroll will too. I don’t want blogs to die. I want them to continue, I love to read their posts. Please guys… blog. Yes I’m really sick of the sling I’m wearing. I realize I’ve got to keep my shoulder still and not use it, but damn if it doesn’t hurt my neck. My arm is heavy, like the rest of me Strange. I thought it would smell and feel more like leather. I thought there’d be ceiling supports and eye hooks. I was hoping it would be erotic and memorable. Instead, it’s much more cloth-like and blue. There is some velcro, it’s binding and uncomfortable, and it’s definitely painful. Yup, your macboyX is walking around with his ARM in a SLING. In a sling! Grrr. It’s so frustrating to not be able to use one of your arms/hands. I mean thank goodness it’s my RIGHT arm and not my LEFT. I’m left handed in many tasks including, Writing, Eating and well yes THAT! But I’m right handed in just about everything else. I lead with my right in most of my daily tasks, so I’m suffering. Long story short, there is one less squished kitty cat in my house and due to that fact, there is one kitty cat owner with a separated shoulder. They told me if I just had put BOTH hands down instead of just my right (see I told you I lead with it!) my weight (which also was pointed out) could have been spread over both joints instead of the one. So here I am, arm held tight to my body, sore and immobile. Wishing like hell it wasn’t. It’s only for a week, or two (I surely hope the former), so it’s not so bad. In fact the worst part of it is the looks you get. People who WANT to ask what happened. And then there are the ones who CAN ask and DO. It’s such a stupid story, I should have made up something dirty, sexual or just funny. “I forgot the safety word when my boyfriend got too randy with the Cat-O-Nines” “Oh this? Untreated Syphilis” “No, he’s really a good man, he just has a bad temper. He promised to take me on a nice trip when the sling comes off” “I was doing a back handspring into a running round out… then whoops” “Oh my arm fell off. The super glue is still drying. Thanks to Pinoyboy for cracking most of those lines over the past 24 hours trying to cheer me up. Oh well it could be worse. In the grand scheme of injuries I’ve sustained. This one is definitely not so bad. And the boyfriend is helping lots. Last nite he cut my food at the table and slept behind me so I couldn’t rollover Well it’s over. I’m impressed but a bit disappointed. Announced, Apple TV (formerly iTV) and the iPhone. The Apple TV is a way to stream video content from your Mac to your TV. 720p, 802.11b,g,n, HDMI, RCA, Component Video. Neat idea. Not something I need The iPhone is wicked cool. A widescreen iPod, a Phone, and an Internet Communicator. It’s wicked cool. Runs OS X. Runs DESKTOP apps. Has widgets, Safari, Mail, Google Maps etc. It’s GSM with EDGE and WiFi. It’s 11.6 mm thick. It has a 3.5″ wide screen. It’s all touch enabled. It has sensors to tell if it’s in landscape or portrait view, or if it’s near ur face so it can shut off the screen to conserve battery. Speaking of which it’s battery life is 16hrs of music, or 5hrs of general use. Photos are handled in an iPhoto like app, iTunes runs your music. Coverflow is implemented for browsing thru photos, music and even open web pages. It has only one button and everything else is done via touch screen. Even phone dialing is done via your contact list, voice mail is visual, you see all you messages in a list. Oh yeah, did i mention it has a 2.0MP camera?. It’s hardcore cool. There is MUCH technology that will filter down into current iPods and Macbooks. Technology-wise it’s a marvel. I want one if not for TFST, then because it’s one convergence device that would cut down what I carry significantly. Now the bad news. It’s Cingular only. Yup, exclusive multi-year contract. I have T-Mobile, I love T-Mobile. I had Cingular. I didn’t like it. More bad news… It’s not out until June 2007. Grrrr. And the really bad news. It’s flash-memory based. It’s pricey. 499 for a 4GB and 599 for a 8GB, and Cingular requires a 2 year contract. Also no word on what the data plan is going to cost. I really like the iPhone. It’s cool, it’s amazing but… switching providers? I’m not so sure about a 2 yr contract with as fast as Apple changes products. And… 8GB? My 60GB iPod is full. How do I cut back to 0.13% of my current data? I really wish there would have been a widescreen only iPod. I know it’s coming, but how could it come out before the iPhone is out (June)? My last gripe was that I wanted more out of this keynote. When is Leopard coming? What about iLife? iWork? Of course I’ll be watching the keynote, drooling over the iPhone, but… will I get one? That remains to be seen. Well, it’s no secret to my readers that I’m a bona fide, Apple junkie. I’ve had 14 Macs in the 5 years I’ve been a Mac user. I’ve also had one of every model iPod (except the new Shuffle), so I’m definitely a person who lives for the MacWorld Expo. This year may be quite a year. Apple’s teaser last week could be a foreshadowing of great things to come However, as an Apple shareholder, I’m a little worried. Rumors are coming from here, there and everywhere. Not only are they being reported on by all the great Apple rumor sites out there, they’re also getting picked up by the mainstream media. I saw someone on Fox News talking about the “iPhone”. This worries me because with all these people talking about a RUMOR, if Apple doesn’t produce this rumored product, a product it’s done nothing to confirm or market, the world thinks they’ve made a mistake, or missed a target. I for one hope, like I think most Mac users and Apple fans do, that the announcements will be amazing and that they will rock our worlds. I just hope that people remember that if a rumored product doesn’t surface, it was just a rumor. It’s like Christmas all over again! So here it is, January 1, the start of a new year. I was finally back in front of my MacBook and surfing my sites and I headed over to www.apple.com to check out how much the Klipsch iGroove HG costs and when i hit the home page… this is what I see… ![]() I popped over to MacRumors to find out what, if anything was up and even they seemed shocked. I really hope this means that MacWorld SF 2007 will be one to remember. |
