What a Blockhead

It’s Christmastime, and believe it or not I’m a sucker for some of the trappings, I do like to decorate our tree especially because all of the ornaments were hand made by my boyfriend’s grandmother when he was just a wee one. All of my normal playlists are replaced with Christmas/Wintertime music, modern and classic from the day after Thanksgiving until New Years Day, it’s Winter Wonderlands and Jingle Bells for this macboyX.

The one other thing that I look forward to every year is the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Since I was a child, this was the high point of my holiday season. Back then of course it was a much bigger deal because you could ONLY see it on at the holidays. Now, I own it, and can watch it any time I like, but I’m amazed by how it mesmerizes me whenever it’s on. I know every word, every song, every joke, I could probably rattle it off in a one man show on demand, but the second it’s on… I’m lost in it.

Last night I was over my friend and neighbor S’s house and it was on, at least twice she had to snap me out of a Charlie Brown induced trance. When I had headed over to her place, I was not in the greatest mood, work had been tough and tiring and I wasn’t relishing the several hours more I was expecting to do when I returned home, but after watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” I was in fantastic mood. Isn’t amazing what something so full of happy memories will do to you?

Yes I know… of all the Charlie Browns in the world, I’m the Charlie Browniest.

Oh look...someone said something!

I missed it yesterday. I have it on DVD and will watch it this week. That and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer are a must for the holiday season.

Go on... say something. You know you want to.
