What a Blockhead

It’s Christmastime, and believe it or not I’m a sucker for some of the trappings, I do like to decorate our tree especially because all of the ornaments were hand made by my boyfriend’s grandmother when he was just a wee one. All of my normal playlists are replaced with Christmas/Wintertime music, modern and classic from the day after Thanksgiving until New Years Day, it’s Winter Wonderlands and Jingle Bells for this macboyX.

The one other thing that I look forward to every year is the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Since I was a child, this was the high point of my holiday season. Back then of course it was a much bigger deal because you could ONLY see it on at the holidays. Now, I own it, and can watch it any time I like, but I’m amazed by how it mesmerizes me whenever it’s on. I know every word, every song, every joke, I could probably rattle it off in a one man show on demand, but the second it’s on… I’m lost in it.

Last night I was over my friend and neighbor S’s house and it was on, at least twice she had to snap me out of a Charlie Brown induced trance. When I had headed over to her place, I was not in the greatest mood, work had been tough and tiring and I wasn’t relishing the several hours more I was expecting to do when I returned home, but after watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” I was in fantastic mood. Isn’t amazing what something so full of happy memories will do to you?

Yes I know… of all the Charlie Browns in the world, I’m the Charlie Browniest.

I meant to

I meant to do so much over the past four days and I didn’t get much of it done. Most of it has been because of this project I’m doing for work that I simply can not seem to get my heart into. I’m getting it done, but not as confidently as I’d like.

I’d rather be Wii’ing or just be out shopping, or something. I had a dozen blogs in mind but I didn’t get a single one up. I’m gonna see what i can do to get them out over the next few days but it’s going to be a tough one.

I do wanna thank my boyfriend and the fabulous Pinoyboy for keeping my spirits up and understanding my mood swings and general crankiness :)

Wii-mazing

I’m so excited, my very loving wonderful boyfriend scored us a Nintendo Wii! I’ve been very, very excited about the Wii coming out because of the Wii Remote. A totally new way of playing games.

He got it at a local Toys R Us where he ended up being number 4 in line because apparently everyone thought they’d be mobbed. He brought it home around 11am but because of lots of other stuff going on we didn’t get to open it until about 6pm. It was murder waiting to play it!

I of course took the obligatory unboxing shots, and got it hooked up very quickly. I was not prepared for just how amazing game play is. I’ve only broken into Wii Sports, but you can’t imagine how the Wii Remote changes the way you play the game. You are UP off the couch. You move and reach and swing. It’s great.

Go try it. It’s Wii-mazing!

Will Wii?

Well Sunday is the release date for the Wii. We didn’t get to pre-order one, so we’re going to try our luck at our 24 hour Super Wal-Mart (I know…) and see if they’ll sell us one at 12:01 AM.

Stay Tuned.

Straightened out?

Well I *think* I’ve gotten my network issues sorted. For WEEKS I’ve been having issues with my network connection dropping, being knocked off iChat (well I lose my connection but I still appear to be on), and just generally having major network issues. I thought it might be my router, but I bought a new one and still had the problem. I moved some things around and put my Vonage adapter behind the router instead of in front of it and I’m hoping that’s going to solve my problems… I guess we’ll see.

Total Apple Fan boy

Okay, I know this next clip is going to fall in to the “total Apple fan boy” category but… I didn’t do it I’m just reporting it.

This morning on CNN, a very shaky and unsure Andrew Sorkin from the New York Times presented the new Microsoft Zune. And it did not go well. From his horrible presentation to Miles O’Brien commenting on both the “fine print” about the Zune and it’s styling to Soledad O’Brien’s blatant plug of her 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle!

It’s a train wreck for Andrew and for the Zune.

Enjoy!

Hajimemashite

This weekend, Apple Japan debut translated versions of the “Get A Mac” Ads. The ads star Japanese actors in place of the American PC/Mac actors. They are neat, especially the Virus one which is pretty much identical to the English speaking version. Check them out at Apple Japan.

Past the half way mark

For the last 6 months or so, I’ve been trying to keep track of where I’ve been so far in the United States. My job takes me to lots of places and while updating my list I realized I’m over halfway. I’ve been to 28 out of 50 states! I don’t think this year will add anymore so here’s the places I haven’t been yet…

Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
Hawaii
Idaho
Iowa
Maine
Minnesota
Montana
Nebraska
New Mexico
North Dakota
Oregon
Rhode Island
South Dakota
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming
Kentucky
Tennessee

Anyone want to invite me to visit?

Delays

I swear that blogging gets behind so fast. I’ve been working and visiting and doing stuff and I’m just so behind. I’m sorry. IT WILL HAPPEN again, it’s inevitable. I have on tap my review of the T-Mobile Dash but like with all my other reviews, I never seem to get them done.

This past week I was in Oklahoma City, it was an okay trip (well the first day sucked) but the rest was okay, this weekend was also nice since I got to spend it with my sweetie and with my nephew. It was well worth the price of admission.

I will try to do better, forgive me if I don’t.
