The Circle of Life

This was a great weekend, Japanese with Pinoyboy on Friday, Dinner and Uno with my sister on Saturday, and a matinee of the Lion King on Broadway on Sunday.

Sunday we headed up to New York around noon. Got into the city in plenty of time and found a great garage very near the theater. We were early enough that we even go to stop at Junior’s . We both got sarnies on twin rolls. I got the roast beef, he the corned beef and of course, we swapped. The food was fantastic. It was delicious, quick and the service was good.

After our sandwiches, we headed to the Miskoff Theater to see the show. We scored our tickets on THURSDAY afternoon, on a whim. I had no clue where our seats were going to be other than in the Orchestra section. We could not have asked for better seats. 13 rows back, on the floor almost dead center. Amazing. We’ve really been lucky with shows, and this is was the same. We both enjoyed it more than we thought. The costumes are amazing and the story was solid and moved quickly. I know I’m probably the last person to see the Lion King, but if you haven’t, I highly recommend it.

After the show, we hit up our favorite, Virigils (yes again) and enjoyed some BBQ before heading home. As always the food was great, but the service was very lacking this time.

All in all just about a perfect weekend with my baby.

Wow look at all the comments!

You were in the city? Well, I never!
Awesome you saw The Lion King! Yay! For some reason I thought you saw it already. It is a great show.

Sayonara. ^^

I _love_ the Lion King. I saw it three times when it was in Boston. The first two times were in the orchestra and the 3rd time I went on a cheap trip to the last show (it was $10 through work, included the bus from home to Boston and back and the shittiest seats in the theater – way up in the balcony) Balcony people are a whole different breed of people, people were talking and entering and leaving all through the first act, so during intermission I scoped out the orchestra section watched for empty seats when people were coming back in and scored me a decent seat for Act 2. I sooooo wanna go out to NYC and see it.

Go on... say something. You know you want to.
