This weekend we also caught Superman Returns. The movie was very good with a very nice twist that I wasn’t expecting. It should be noted that this movie is said to take place AFTER Superman 2 and that the disasters that were 3 and 4 never happened.

Brandon Roush was good as Superman (I however did not get all tingly or excited about him in his tights) but he really, really nailed Clark Kent. I really enjoyed the way he did the clueless acting with the knowing look in his eye. The casting was fantastic (I seem to really care about these days huh?) Kate Bosworth did a great modern day Lois Lane, and Kevin Spacey was EXTRAORDINARY as Lex Luthor. Parker Posey was a nice addition as well.

The story moved quickly and was a bit predictable but it was nice to see Superman finally fly smoothly and without it looking too fake. One thing I will drop which won’t ruin the movie is… I love how Bryan Singer made the opening and closing exactly like Superman and Superman 2, it did a great job of tying it all together.
