It was a shitty morning but it got better. I left work early and took in an early showing of “The Devil Wears Prada”, which by the way was FANTASTIC. Great story, great adaptation, great acting. Go see it. We had a great time seeing it and then headed home only to find another surprise… my Sidekick 3 arrived today!

Oh so much to do… I can’t wait to play with it.

Late out the house, boyfriend disgruntled, no headphones for the iPod, department meeting and I’m bloody knackered. This afternoon can not come fast enough.

However…bright spot… thanks to Pinoyboy for trying to cheering my arse up.

Well I just got off the phone with the T-Mobile rep and my Sidekick 3 should be on it’s way. Hopefully it’ll be here on friday…

I think I’m making up for lost time… but post number 3 for today!
Today for lunch I took my sweetie and my best hag to a little place called Five Guys, a very good burger place I was introduced to in Albany and I liked it so much that I really wanted to take my boyfriend there. I searched the net and was pleased to see that there are quite a few all around the Mid-Atlantic States, including one right near work.

We headed out today and again they did not disappoint. The burgers are perfect and customized as you like them and the fries are soooo good. We all chowed down and I was even pleasantly surprised to hear songs by the Smiths, the Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen and even the Snap Soup Dragons. Ah good food and a trip down memory lane. Who could ask for more.

If there is one near you, go. If you are going somewhere where there is one… GO. In short… just go!

Okay kiddies, it’s lunch time. I’m taking my baby and my best hag to Five Guys for a burger. iPod? Check. Keys to the Volvo? Check. Sidekick? ummm… oh yeah… what’s this my RAZR? Grumble Grumble… isn’t it June 28th yet? Bah.

I wanted to post about this last nite but with all the drama of last evening I didn’t get a chance to, so here goes… I not only saw the Sidekick 3 but I got to play with it. Yesterday afternoon, we headed over to the T-Mobile store near my parents to get my brother all set up with my Sidekick II. While there the salesman flaunted his SK3 which I promptly insisted he hand over for inspection. A quick call to my sweetie and we were inspecting this beauty together.

So what did I find out? First of all, it’s sweet. It felt heavier when I first held it, but then when holding the SKII in the other hand it’s about the same. The unit is thinner, and not wide, but it seems to be a touch longer, even tho it’s not. The buttons tho smaller and slightly moved, felt perfect and in the right place. The track ball was perfect and so easy to use. There is a Messenger Center now that has a combined buddy list that does AIM, Yahoo!, and MSN. I also noticed that menu items actually have a back arrow to go back to the jump menu by rolling the trackball to the left. The music player was neat and the unit felt good in my hands. The camera was amazing. We took a nice shot of my brother and were surprised to see the dimensions were huge. The quality was much improved on the screen and it was very nice. The track ball really made the whole user interface better and I found myself hardly using the D-pad.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a new one and I want so bad to go to NYC and pick one up. I’m however pretty sure I’ll never get my hands on one so I’ll just have to spring for expedited shipping.

Well I made it thru a whole day without my Sidekick. It’s been a tough one, but I’m managing with my Motorola RAZR and an application called BluePhoneElite. This application rocks because it lets you send and receive text messages via your phone. It also acts as a Caller ID system for your cell phone. It also does proximity functions. It rocks. Definitely check it out.

Why am I without my Sidekick? Well today my brother is going to buy my Sidekick II because his OGO died and so that I can get some money toward my Sidekick III which I’m patiently waiting for. I talked to T-Mo yesterday and asked them about upgrading. Current Sidekick customers will be able to upgraded 2 weeks before the general population, however you can’t order one until June 28th. Add about 7 days for shipping and I’m going to be without my Sidekick for about 10 days. Sigh. I could go to one of the two stores where there will actually HAVE Sidekicks on the 28th but those are in Beverly Hills, CA and Madison Ave in NYC. Sigh what to do… I can’t wait to get a new one. Hell I just wanna see one at this point.

Picture it… you’re in a hotel room, all ready to unwind from a 12+ hour day at the customer site, formal attire off, bed attire donned and you set yourself down on the bed to check your personal email and just breathe.

Sounds good right? It did to me until I was attacked. Yes attacked by a fly. No I’m not making some obscure reference to Animal Crossing (tho I did win the Bug Off!), in my hotel room last nite was a huge fly. Huge and fast. I had the DAMNEDEST time finding the S.O.B. and trying to kill it. Hours it went on. It’d do a fly by, I’d leap up in hot pursuit only to miss it, or lose it. At one point it even landed on the floor and as I attempted to SLAM my flip-flopped foot onto it, it disappeared, vanished, thin air like… I’M NOT KIDDING!

Finally it was 1230am, bed time for sure, and I still hadn’t gotten it. I clamored into bed, tired and defeated. As I settled in to the bed the damn thing buzzed me again, scrambling for my glasses, I saw him, on the painting across the room. I got up… grabbed my flip-flop and WHAM! Nailed him. Right between the eyes. It fell off the picture and landed on its back, twitching and moving erratically and WHAM…SPLAT. Dead. And I’m telling you, I slept like a baby.

It’s official. July 10th. The new Sidekick 3 will be out. I’m very excited.

I will be calling T-Mo tonight to find out if I’m eligible for an upgrade. Apparently existing Sidekick II customers can get one next week June 28th. I hope that will be me.
