Well I had wanted to do a podcast today but to be truthful, I’m really just enjoying some quality time with the boyfriend. I know no one reads the site, everyone comes in through a reader or iTunes but… I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year and thank you for being such loyal listeners. In December, if you can believe it, we had on average 150 listeners a day. I am floored by this number. To think that between my blog and podcast so many people hear me or read my words, it blows my mind. So thank you all for listening. Please, don’t hesitate to say hello, drop a feedback or an email or something. Thanks!

Yesterday night while running errands to my mom’s (had to pick up the turkey for dinner tomorrow), I stopped at the mall for ONE last gift for be-lated Christmas, and while there I raided the Electronic Boutique and got my self (and my boyfriend) some goodies. Paperboy for our GameBoy Advance SP (mostly for the bf), The Incredibles for Game Cube (how could I pass it up for 19.99?) and Pokémon Sapphire for me. I’ve wanted to try it for forever… ![]() But the point of this post is not the games I bought yesterday, but they did trigger something I forgot to mention in my blog before. When I set up my Macs… I usually name them. I also usually name the hard drives as well. For example my PowerBook is Henrietta and my HD is Amati, my iPod is Rico, my cellphone is Triella. All references from Gunslinger Girl the anime (I’m too lazy to link…Google it!). Further example… my PowerMac G5 was Roman Gods. Chaos was the G5’s name, the HDs were Artemis, Hades, Iapetus, Promethius, Ares and Tethys. So with the iMac I had to do something cool but different. One iMac, 5 hard drives… and it dawned on me…. The Incredibles. ![]() The iMac is named “IncrediMac” get it? And the hard drives are named Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack! I even named the external hard drives Edna 1 and Edna 2! I went so far as you can see to even get icons for the hard drives!!! I know I’m a Gomo (geeky homo) but at least I admit it! To all my readers thank you so much. I’m shocked that my stats reveal that I have on average over 200 readers a day! I just can’t believe it. Amazing. The blog has brought me some good things and some bad too! But it has also brought me some more new friends and online buddies. I’m really apprecative that you guys keep coming back to read every day. I hope for you, all the best in 2006! Wow. That’s about all I can say. For a movie that I didn’t want to see at first, I got sucked into the hype, and was amazed at how good it was. The movie itself is amazing. It’s almost 3 hours long but it sure didn’t feel that way. It was a bit slow at the beginning but it picked up and carried you right thru to the end. However, my movie was almost ruined by the people who sat next to us. The woman who older, perhaps granny aged and her most likely grandson, sat in the movie and spoke in full volume like they were watching a DVD at home. I mean what the f*ck! He did not want to be there and every 15 minutes had to give her a time update, “…it’s 6:30 when is this thing gonna be over?” he said at one point. Now it gets worse, she was so stereotypical. She pointed out EVERY obvious thing in the movie and missed all the subtlety. It was awful. She laughed when people died, she cheered “STAMPEDE” over and over again when the brontosaurus were in fact stampeding. I had half a mind to tell her to “shut da f*ck up!” but I knew, as did the boyfriend that this would have only served to give her more reason to talk. I thought of moving but the theater was packed and I did not want to miss what was going on to find another seat. It was awful. It was a testament to how good the movie was, that she did NOT ruin my good time completely. I highly recommend this movie! Go for see it! ![]() We had a little get together tonight with some friends of Shawn’s from his old job. I had a blast they were all wonderful and for some reason at one point in the party every one was in our bed trying out the Select Comfort bed. LOL. The night was topped off with lots of laughs and fun and a kiss from everyone including a lip lock from the lesbian of the group! As Mike P said… Happy New Year! I had a blast and I’m so glad that everyone came and had a good time. I think I’ve said it on the blog, I know I said it on the podcast, but we’ve decided to postpone Christmas by a week and have gifts and dinner with my family on New Year’s Day instead. I know it seems weird but my baby sister has missed the last four Christmas dinners since she’s a nurse she always seems to work on Christmas. We however did head to my ‘rents for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We had some dinner and played some cards (of course) on Xmas Eve and then after midnight the boyfriend and I exchanged gifts. Thanks to Vu we’re now collecting Walt Disney Classics Collection pieces. For Christmas I got him: ![]() Evil Has Met It’s Match I was so excited to get it for him he seemed to really have liked it. And much to my surprise he got me one too… ![]() Perplexed Pupil I love it. It’s so cute. I also scored a very nice accessory for my traveling an iGo 6500. The iGo is basically a power adapter for your notebook but you can swap tips on it to charge different laptops. This means when I travel I can carry ONE power brick for both of my laptops. It also has an add on piece that lets you charge another item like your cell phone. I’ve wanted one for a while and was totally caught off guard by it. The boyfriend of course hooked me with every tip I need. Last but certainly not least I also got from him the Simpsons Season Seven. It was a good almost Christmas for me I have no clue why I stopped using capitals on my blog, it was fun, it was amusing, it’s over. Sentence case rules. has it really been almost a week since i posted? it would appear so. i’m sorry but vacation is vacation no? it’s a tough thing to make sure you blog when you’re away from work. i thought i’d blog a lot more over the holidays but wow. i guess i’ll get caught up now. to every one. no matter what you celebrate. celebrate it. and be thankful for all you have. i know i am. tonight i finally felt well enough to try to do some christmas shopping. i know kinda late but we have a reprieve as my family has decided between my mom and i being sick that we’d postpone christmas day until new years day. so i have a few days more to get my shopping done. i’m only having trouble with one person… my dad. i always have trouble with dad. he doesn’t need anything, he doesn’t even want anything which only makes me want to buy him the world. he however is a difficult person to shop for. sigh. anyhow, tonight we decided to head out to the mall to get some shopping done and i was surprised (pleasantly) that there were not horrific crowds as expected. we got all the stuff we needed to get done in about 2 hours and had dinner at houlihan’s. all in all not a bad nite. |
