Rosa Parks (1913-2005)

Today Civil Rights champion Rosa Parks passed away. In 1955, Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her refusal inspired a boycott of the buses by blacks and was a turning point in the battle to make segregation illegal in the United States.

She was a quiet, powerful woman who made a huge difference in our world and she will be missed.

Thank you Ms. Parks.
