Spiderman 2

Well I just got back from Massachusettes and we went to see Spiderman 2 and all I can say is this has to be the best movie I have seen since Kill Bill Volume 1. It totally blows the original out of water, the story was so solid, the effects amazing. Doc Oc is just unbelievable so amazing how cool the arms were and how they moved so fluidly. There is way more action in this one, more fights and more destruction. They kept the movie in the darker, loveable loser vein which works so well. We had to pay full price too see this movie and it was worth every cent.

I soooo highly recommend it. 5 out 5 stars. I’ll be seeing it again and I won’t even mind paying full price.

Trials and Tribulations

Hey all,

Sorry it’s been so long with updates. I have been so busy with work (transitioning to a new job) and my family that I have been severely neglecting my website. I’ve just been so worn out that I haven’t finished a lot of my stuff. I have lots of new stuff planned, it’s just not done yet. I am in Massachusetts right now and this was my first business trip and I didn’t do so well with the lonely and the missing my boyfriend. I was very unproductive, sat around and kinda moped the entire time. I am going to really try to not let that happen again. I have a pretty wild week left at work but there is a 3 day weekend so maybe I can get some things updated, no promises tho as I want to spend some time with the hubby.

As far as my trip up here it wasn’t bad, the class went well and I did meet a really nice guy on Sunday who kept me company and provided lots of good conversation. All in all I shouldn’t have been such a Biatch about it but thems is the breaks.

I am off to the airport now and then hopefully off to see Spiderman 2 with Shawn. I will write my review and get to work on some of my site updates.

The Stepford Wives

Yet another movie review…or whatever I am calling these things. I should really make a separate section for them…but I digress…

We saw The Stepford Wives today. I can say that I really enjoyed it but it was flawed in parts. First of all Nicole Kidman CAN NOT act. It’s a simple as that. She is horrible…didn’t she win some awards….checking > imdb now…AN OSCAR wow who fooled those judges. As expected she’s just dreadful as the dark brooding TV Executive and also as expected the Divine Miss M (Bette Midler) steals the show. All in all this is a movie laden with too many egos and salaries and a few cool special effects. If one more person asks me how Faith Hill was… she was a robot how do you think she was? Ha Ha Ha :-).

The story was good, a bit preachy…the ending was a shock, the entire audience gasped at the same moment.

Not at total waste of a movie but I am glad that I paid matinee prices for it. I recommend it if you think you want to see it. If you’re on the fence and not sure… see something else.

3 stars out of 5.

New York…

Well I’m back. I had probably just one of the greatest weekends ever in New York, thanks to Steve, Craig and Al for making it so.

Also just a hi to Farley. It was really good to see you and to talk to you. I hope things are turning around for us and we can move forward.

Friday nite was the Dugout. It was a lot of fun. I won’t go into too many details since this is a PG-rated blog but suffice it to say, I got a lot of looks and it was fun to get some attention. The people at the club were nice and Steve and Craig kept an eye out for me. I also met Al, a cute guy with a great personality who was very friendly who was bold enuff to ask if he could rub my stomach, I figured if he had the balls to ask, least I could do was let him! LOL.

On Saturday, Steve and I got to hang out alot which was great. We went to the Mall. Steve in a Mall was very strange for me but we had fun and I had Arby’s for the first time. We went out to dinner with Craig and Al later that nite to the Cheesecake Factory. It took a million years to get there. I had a fun with Al in the back seat. He was kinda down cause he had a bad date, but we did a good job cheering him up.

I was up way to late on Saturday nite/Sunday morning as I had soooo much trouble with permissions on Steve’s iMac. I screwed up something let me tell you! Around 4am I decided to stay up and just sleep on the train (thanks to Shon for keeping me company!!!), this however was not meant to be and I passed out around 7am and woke up at 10. I almost missed my train. But we made it to newark in plenty of time!

All in all another fantastic trip to NY thanks to Steve. Ah well time for bed!

Zya.

Harry Potter

We went to see Harry Potter today. It was a pretty good movie. It is however going to disappoint some people who read the books a thousand times. There is alot to fit into the movie and they moved somethings around to both make things more linear and to help those who haven’t read the books. In particular the Shrieking Shack scene is noticably shorter and not as dramatic as most of what you learn in the book during this chapter has been revealed in scenes leading up to this.

All in all good movie, good acting. The kids have really come into their own and are doing great in their roles. Snape (Alan Rickman) is just fantastic, so oily and bitter! The guy they picked for Lupin wasn’t what was in my mind’s eye but he played it well. The new Dumbledore was good but it still almost brought a tear to my eye to realize that Richard Harris is gone…

The new director changed some things most noticable to me was the sets. The castle seems smaller and more open, there was a lot more outdoors scenes as well. The Hippogriff was amazing CGI and Animatronics. So cool.

All in all I’d give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars. Go see it cause you have to you just have to! :)

Trip to NY

I am off to NY this weekend to hang out with Steve. I am going to go see my friend Farley who i haven’t talked to in 3 years. I am very nervous. We have had some online chats but who knows what will happen face to face. Hopefully it will be a good time. I’ll of course update all when I get back on Sunday.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day was pretty good this year. We went to the movies with my parents on Saturday, and on sunday we had AJ and his friend Ian over. We watched Jem on DVD and everyone laughed. AJ brought some BBQ with him and we have a great time eating and talking. We also had a great day on Memorial day we had lots to eat and watched tons of TiVo!

Now it’s back to work. Ugh
