Well as of this week, I got my eighth Mac yes my eighth. This is all in just almost 2 years! Never once had a problem with one, just kept the natural progression up. You can read more about this on my Switch! page when it’s up and running, but suffice it to say I think I have gone thru more Macs in 2 years than most of my Maciest friends have in their lifetimes.

Oh man…just a quick rant about my webcam problem….if you care :).

I have an Orange Micro iBot Firewire WebCam. I LOVE it. It’s a great webcam… that was until I got my new Macs…

First, when I got my G5 I plugged in my iBot and got ready to visit via iChat AV with Steve and no sound. WTF? I thought the iBot had a Mic? Apparently not, apprarently the iMac, PowerBook, and iBooks I had owned all had built in mics! The G5 does not. Ok no prob, I’ll just get a mic, cheaper than getting an iSight right? Well…

Next we got the Powerbook G4 12″ and the new 12″ iBook G4. The other day I wanted to web cam with Brian in Florida and I had audio but no Video. Thru much trouble shooting I realised that I could use and charge my iPod and use my FireWire hard drives…but no iBot.

UPDATE!
Orange Micro was as stumped as I am, so after a 2 week ordeal…I give up! I went to day and bought an iSight. I will test when I get home from work…I hope it works…

UPDATE!
Well even though I left it at work on Monday, I brought it home last nite and bingo! The iSight works on all of our Macs! Orange Micro offered to replace it, I might do it because maybe a new one will work? I dunno! Ugh!

Whew! Finally the photo pages are coded! It took a while…but it’s done. Thanks again to Brad for his help. I can’t believe for the most part I figured it all out myself. I am sure the code is hacked and crap but it works and that’s all I care. There is a ton of other things I’d like to do to it but it works for now. I only have 2 crap albums up for now but I’m gonna work on more.

Next I’ll be working on getting the guestbook working. I am swamped tho… it’s 1am, and I still haven’t finished rebuilding the PowerBook so I guess that means no Mac at work tmrw You all know I need to hit that Mac at least ONCE a day lol. I guess I could back up the G5 to the FW HD and take it with me and work on her at lunch. OH well if tmrw’s anything like today I won’t get much of a chance to do so.

Oh just wanted to say to both Rob and Steve, thanks for making me laugh my ass off today. And to Mike, Brandon and Byron, hang in there…sometimes love hurts…and sometimes it kicks your ass…

WOW…I’ve just gotten home from the Eddie Izzard concert and wow was it cool. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.

Barb and Nat and I ate at this great place in the Double Tree hotel called Standing O. It was good food, good drink and very good company. We swapped stories and laughed our asses off and we hadn’t even gotten to the concert! The only down side was that it rained and was POURING when we got out of the restaurant.

We met V and her friend in front of the Wilma Theater and waited for the rain to let up before we ran over to the Merriam. The crowd was huge and I was feeling way over dressed in my work clothes when most people were dressed in black!

Our seats rocked, the were third row center stage and the seats were actually folding chairs on the floor. We were so close you could see the sweat on his lip! The woman sitting next to me actually threw a bra and panties set on the stage and when he came out he picked it up, made some jokes about it and took it off stage.

He was dressed so different this time he had tits (no lie!). He came on stage in a black mini skirt, a blood red bustiere and these awesome black and grey leather knee high stiletto boots. He performed for about an hour and then took an intermission, came back in a black bustiere, black sequined skirt, same boots and gloves! He did another hour or so and had me rolling. It was definitely funny. One thing that pissed me off tho was that I DID NOT bring my digital cam (figured they wouldn’t let me bring it in, but plenty of people had them and luckily V was one of the. As soon as she gets them developed I’ll post some to the photos section.

Ok I gotta get some sleep cause it’s 2 am and I need to be at work at 730 am!

Sorry it’s been a while since I posted but I am so fed up with the FTP issues I been having I just have been not bothering. However…as of today Lunarpages is now hosting Macboyx.com and they seem to be amazing. I am so happy to have the site back up and running. I will be getting things cleaned up and set up to work in the new LINUX environment. After my switch to the Mac and trying to avoid all things Microsoft, I am using a Linux provider to force me off ASP. For now the guestbook will definitely not work since Lunarpages does not support Access. I will be trying to implement a PHP page instead. Thanks again to all of you who have been helping and supportive, Shawn, Brad, Ed, Brian etc.
