Ok let me first say OMG! The screen is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO F’ing big! I can put iChat, Safari, Dreamweaver and a DVD all on at the same time and see it all! I was shocked the Apple Cinema Display (ACD) didn’t have a power cord, just the adapter.

The G5 is so heavy! Almost 50 lbs, but so beautiful! Like a good geek I took some pics of it. Click here to see them. I took the G5 and opened it up, wow SO nice inside, all clean and shiny. No wires, no nothing. It’s sweet.

Hooked it all up, I gotta say I thought that the G5 should have more ports, only 2 USB on the back and one FW 400 (I could care less since abt the FW800). To put it into perspective, I have a printer, a scanner, the keyboard, my track ball, my card reader, and the SoundSticks.

Luckily, the keyboard has 2 USB ports and cool so does the Cinema Display! So that covered my USB, however I have 4 Firewire Devices (my iBot, my iPod, and my 2 FW Hard Drives. But ok I got that sorted.

It’s fast. I love the speed and I love the cinema display. It makes it!

OMG! I got it. The coolest computer on the face of the planet! Here’s how it went down…

I went to CompUSA after work today, to get the G5. Drove all the way from work to Delaware (over 40 minutes). I had checked online and they said they had it all in stock…I got there and oh yeah they got them in but they’re all sold! WTF?

Sooooo Shawn and I hot tailed it back to King of Prussia to the Apple Store and YES! they had em in stock! We made it out of there and home in time for the O.C. lol!

Just setting it up now, the monitor is huge…I’ll post more when I play with it!

OOOOH YES YES YES… everything seems to have sorted it’s self at the site! The deals on and I am going to get the G5 so I can start working on the new site. I can not wait. Dual 2.0 with a 20″ Cinema Display. I will NOT SLEEP tonight!

Oh we had some MAJOR ISSUES Today at macboyx.com.

On Friday, my cable modem kept resetting itself and I didn’t know why. Found out it was the router, so I did a hard reset…now I can’t FTP. No idea why. I remember a fix about AirPort and my Linksys and FTp but don’t remember the solution. Damn.

Fast foward to Tuesday. I remembered the fix. Port Forwarding and use PASV FTP. I called Brian cause it still wasn’t working, our ISP changed to Active FTP.

I can’t use Active FTP from behind the router, Blogger can’t publish to Active FTP. A bunch of tickets hasn’t helped. I guess I am going to take the site down since I can’t update it. I am gonna keep the blog up so that it’s ready when I get it sorted.

Well I just got back from the Night of the Panther at the KOP mall. Thanks to Mike and Terrell and Shant and Don and Tim and AJ and Shawn for being there. There was much drama that evening let me tell you (and all of it before I left for the Mall!).

My meeting with the guys at the “site” went long and went bad. The deal looked as if it was going to fall thru…no G5, no new site, no pride and glory! I left out at 730pm (the time I was supposed to be there mind you!). Once I got there Shant had already gone thru the store and gotten his dog tags! We went to look for Mike but wound up finding Don and Tim, I gave Don his b-day present…and then we went to Starbucks to check out Panther on my iBook.

I was the only person (other than Don who couldn’t stay) who wanted to go into the store (I had to get Shawn’s AirPort Extreme and new bag) so I went to stand in line, Don kept me company til he and Tim had to leave.

It took over an hour of waiting in a very long line to get into the Apple Store, it was MOBBED!!!! SOOO HOT! Lots of people were buying systems tho… A LOT of G5’s which at that point was kinda depressing since I wasnt getting mine!

After I got out of the store and gave Shawn his prezzies (thanks for the kisses!) we went to Wegmans and did our grocery shopping. And here I am writing in my blog!

As noted in my last post, I had a ball this weekend hanging out with my friend Steve in NY. He was a gracious host and so much fun to be around. We didn’t do much of anything but hook up his iMac and chat but it was SOOOO much fun.

I wanted to thank him for his hospitality (and the DVDs!). I also had a blast getting to New York with Terrell and Shant and black CIVIC that could! You guys are the best and I love you both!

Shawn got his new PowerBook 12″. All I can say is WOAH! It’s so fast, so cool looking. He will defintely be enjoying this…

Well, it finally happened. I got to meet my “cutest” Mac buddy Steve. This weekend i took a trip to NY to drop off my iMac which Steve bought from Shawn and I. It took a while but we got it hooked up and we had a ball hanging out. It’s so late and I am not even tired.

Well I guess I should hit the futon lol.

Wow, I am on Mac over load. I have been wheelin’ and dealing and I can’t believe it but it appears everything has settled out ok. While waiting on pins and needles for approval to order my G5, I am agonizing over the expected release of New Cinema Displays. Thru the help of two good friends, Steve and Brad, I have sold both my iBook 900 and our beloved iMac 700. They are going to good homes…Steve will be taking care of the iMac, upgrading his iMac DV 500 and Brad will be joining the fold by adopting my iBook. This will enable us to get Shawn a 12″ PowerBook 1GHz. This will be his only computer and he will shift his 700MHz iBook to me for a portable addition to my much anticipated G5.

Speaking of the G5, I am chompin at the bit to get that sucker! Apple is saying 7-10 business days, I really hope that’s accurate. I can’t wait forever. I am also eagerly anticipating Next Friday’s Panther Release, even though, I might not have a Mac at that point. There’s a real possibility of that because this weekend, I am hoping to take a trip to NYC to help Steve with his transition to the New iMac and getting his baby ready to be passed on. It will hurt me bad to be Mac-less….but it’s gotta be done.

Well I better get some work done.

Hey!

Wow what a weekend. I worked my AZZ off on the site redesign to get it done. Especially since “other things” will be taking priority soon. I went to Atlantic City with Shawn and his Gran. We had alot of fun. We ate too MUCH at Harrah’s Fantasea Reef Buffett! AND I ATE CRAB LEGS and didn’t get sick! WHOO HOO (they are a fave I haven’t been able to eat for years!) Sunday was a much needed day of rest.

Looks like the G5 will be ordered soon. I am sooo psyched about it! More on that lata…time for bed.
